I don't really understand why some people are so thrilled with being single. The Bible tells us that only the people God gives the gift of singleness to, the calling or ability to be single, should stay single. This gift means this person isn't in need of sex and can live without it for their whole life contentedly. This gift is used for the kingdom of God, quite often for evangelism.
Most people that are single today are not doing it for the glory of God as a response to the special calling God gave them when they became saved. That's because living without sexual fulfillment is burdensome to those who don't have the gift of singleness. God tells us to marry in order to avoid fornication in 1 Corinthians 7, one of the most misquoted chapters in the Bible.
Marriage is an amazing gift from God to mankind. It is referred to as the grace of life in 1 Peter 3:7, the best. No one said it would come naturally as it requires the help of the Holy Spirit to break away from our natural inclination to selfishness. Marriage is where sex is to take place, in fact, is commanded when married.
I know what it's like to be single a long time as I wasn't able to get married until I was 53 after being alone for 30 years but God was preparing me for my Amazing Aiza one day. I am so glad I was able to meet and marry my Love Beyond The Sea!
