Colossians 2:6-10
6 Therefore, as you received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in him, 7 rooted and built up in him and established in the faith, just as you were taught, abounding in thanksgiving.
8 See to it that no one takes you captive by philosophy and empty deceit, according to human tradition, according to the elemental spirits of the world, and not according to Christ. 9 For in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily, 10 and you have been filled in him, who is the head of all rule and authority.
This is the seventh installment in a multi-video series called Cringeworthy things said to Single Christian Men. I have quite a few. My intent is to show I have heard much of what other singles have who desire to be married but don't seem to be getting anywhere, and very importantly, how I responded to those comments and continued searching for a wife, which I did find at the age of 53, five years ago.
In this video I will talk about "You are already complete in Christ", "I want to focus on being closer to God", and "There is a perfect person out there for you somewhere". Sometimes well-meaning people say things that are taken out of context. They don't want to hurt someone who is already hurting, but can end up making it worse and likely not be aware of that.
I think Christian singles want to be understood and empathized with. Some of my videos cover my journey through 30 years from the time of my last girlfriend to getting married. Like they say "It's not how you start, it's how you finish!" I recommend to go where you're wanted (GWYW). I want to help men get married, I want to help encourage guys to not give up. Believe me when I say I just couldn't figure out how I was going to get married, but believe me, I had to enlarge my search to broaden my horizons.
I don't know what it will require for you to also find a wife, because only God knows that but I can say with certainty that you must believe that marriage is worth waiting for and very importantly looking for, to search as if for hidden treasure.
